FUNCTIONS  OF STAFF COUNCIL:

     STAFF COUNCIL

A staff council is a group of teachers and other employees at a school who come together to represent the interests of the staff, and in turn, the interests of the school and its students. 

Typically, the staff council is comprised of elected representatives who serve for a specific term, and its membership may include teachers, administrators, support staff, and other employees. The council members work together to discuss and address issues that affect the staff members, such as salaries, working conditions, and professional development opportunities.

In addition to advocating for the interests of the staff, the council may also work with administration to develop new policies and programs that benefit the school and its students. The council may also have a role in planning and organizing staff events, such as faculty meetings, holiday celebrations, and social activities.

REPRESENTING STAFF INTRESTS

One of the primary functions of a staff council is to represent the interests of the staff members. The council acts as a voice for the staff and communicates their concerns and needs to the school administration. This can ensure that staff members are treated fairly and have a say in important decisions that affect them.

COMMUNICATION

 Regularly scheduling staff council meetings to discuss important matters. Plan and coordinate logistics such as date, time, and duration of the events.Develop a schedule or agenda for the events, including any guest speakers or activities. Coordinate with relevant departments or stakeholders to ensure necessary resources are available for the events.Communicate and promote the staff events to all staff members through various channels such as emails, newsletters, and bulletin boards.Collect RSVPs or registrations from staff members interested in attending the events.Arrange for any necessary accommodations or special requirements for staff members attending the events.Prepare materials or handouts for the events, if applicable.
